LuRey Cosmetics Masks

Pore-Minimizing Clay Mask X Microdermabrasion Mask

For about 3 weeks, I have been trying out different weekly treatment masks courtesy of LuRey Cosmetics.

LuRey Cosmetics is about empowering women, and giving alternatives to cosmetic procedures with their high quality potent beauty products. My skin type is combination dry, and my concerns are acne scars and spots. So I was excited to give this line a try, and see what results I would get.

I tested and tried out "Pore Minimizing Clay" and "Microdermabrasion Mask". For the first test, I tried out the clay mask, to spot test, making sure my skin would take to it well (Left it on for 20 mins as the packaging suggested.). 4 Days later, I tested the Microdermabrasion mask, this one only requires 10 minutes.

"Pore Minimizing Clay Mask"
My initial thought was that is was a little drying on the first try, however I am not too oily to begin with. That being said the following week when I started the second round of testing for this bad boy, I split the suggested time for my skin. I did the mask for only 10 minutes and felt no dryness like the previous time, my skin definitely looked smoother too! All I needed after this mask was a little jojoba oil to feel hydrated and fresh. For the last round of testing, I included photos of my test so you can judge my skin before and after.

"Microdermabrasion Mask"
From the first try, it was love at first sight! Where has this been all my life? My skin was glowing on its own right after this treatment, it appeared brighter and more even. Most importantly my combo skin felt hydrated and soft too! I was totally blown away by the results. By the second time, I noticed fading in a stubborn acne scar, it is on my left cheek. I will continue to keep using this! I think its perfect for in between facials or just to spruce up skin before a big event like a wedding. Just like the first mask I included photos of the final test.

Final thoughts
Overall I was happy with my results from both masks. Love the quality of ingredients both have. I would say the clay mask is probably more suitable for an oilier skin type than mine. Both did not irritate my skin, and the clay mask gave an over all smoothness. The microdermabrasion mask was phenomenal on my skin type! Really made me radiant. Take away would be LuRey Cosmetics truly has something to accommodate every skin type. Either mask you go with, you will have noticeably soft smooth skin, and that's honest!

Sibu Beauty Treatment

Sea Berry Seed Oil for Problematic Skin

Sibu Beauty oil boosts incredible, skin-healing claims. Which, came at a perfect time for me! I had just finished a bottle of jojoba oil, my complexion was looking lackluster and needed a boost. I am oily combination to normal, but prone to hormonal pimples around my period. So, was quite excited for a natural healer for those troublesome times! Sibu's oil is USDA grade organic, fair-trade, and sourced sustainably.  Already my ears were sold.

From the website:

Sea Berry Seed Oil has long been used a s a topical treatment to aid in the relief of skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema, acne, dermatitis and other skin ailments. Our therapeutic grade, organic Sea Berry (Sea Buckthorn) seed oil will help restore damaged skin to its natural, beautiful state.

I have been using only this oil for 3 weeks now ( I isolated it to ensure it was working).  I used 1-2 drops all over my face, morning and evening after I toned, followed by the Sibu eye cream. I have to say, out of all the oils, I have slathered on my face, this one absorbs the quickest. It does not leave me feeling dry or tight either. Its excellent to use on acne prone skin, or on hormonal breakouts. When I finally had a big period pimple, I continued my routine as mentioned, then when I woke up, my pimple had shrunk overnight! My experience has been phenomenal thus far! It even healed up rough patches of dry skin from failed acid treatments, which in turn I kept waking up to a balanced complexion.

***Please note this is MY experience, yours could be different. Please always patch test before using ANY natural product. I also understand this is not a medicine.***

I have included some photos of it working on my dry thirsty hands!

Green Bath Products

Everyone knows Lush, but have you heard of these?

In my search to find green, organic, cruelty-free bath products, these following brands have left me satisfied and smelling lovely!

Whilst shopping at my local Pavilion's, my eye caught a yummy scented pop-up. It was Soaptopia! They are a SoCal based company created by Jolie Chitwood, who wanted to cultivate the best natural ingredients possible. Soaptopia's message is "Love and Be Loved, One Love", which captures the thoughtfulness brought to create all the essential-oil-based scented products. You will definitely feel the love, when scent of roses are hugging you in the bathtub.

My current faves from the line are:
-Rose & Patchouli liquid soap

-One Love Rose Salt Soak
Skin Benefits:
***Liquid soap, contains coconut oil for a wonderful non-drying experience.
**Salts are infused with vitamin E and Rose oil.

My next magical discovery was Éclair Naturals' Fizzy Bath Cupcakes! They are a US based company, that does not animal test, are non GMO, vegan, soy-free, and gluten-free! Not only are their bath cupcakes beautiful and smell amazing, they have good for your skin benefits as well.

Grapefruit Orange Fizzy Bath Cupcake:

Skin benefits:
***Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, vitamin E, and Sweet Orange essential oil.

BATH TIME

Personally, I love combining all 3 products for ultimate experience. Granted, products mentioned work amazing alone, but I like being extra! All 3 bring something different, because the scents are pure and not synthetic they do not compete, or smell overly sweet either. The roses from Soaptopia are fresh and elegant with a slight spice from the patchouli. Éclair's Grapefruit Orange Cupcake is bright, zesty, and energizing! Combined, my senses are in aromatherapy heaven. The cupcake is a slow fizz so its excellent to relax with after a tough work week.

For my perfect bath:

-I start with the liquid rose soap

 -Second comes the rose salt

-Last to go in is the bath cupcake

This is my recipe, I hope that you enjoy mine, or perhaps discover a scent combo of your own that you may fall in love with. Take some time for yourself and indulge, you deserve it! For more on these products visit the sites provided. Thank you and until next time!

F*CKBOY REPELLENT

Gorgeous Luminizing Spray

While searching through Instagram, I discovered this amazing line! It is called BEE-Q-BOX. Its the brain child of a gorgeous college student, Brianna Queen, she is only 20 years old! After the November election, she was inspired to do something fabulously positive. Brianna created the line, so that we could all spritz away negative men like trump/ bad exes. This spray will respect your make up and not play games!

She's coined "F*CKBOY REPELLENT", and honestly I love it! Its more than just darling packaging with a naughty name. This stuff works, and works well!

I purchased the "Legendary" shade, its a beautiful warm gold shade. I wondered how such a luminous spray would work, and its not at overwhelming! It leaves my face glowing not glittery. I'm dewy and prepped right before foundation. Just shake and spray away!

Here is the difference it makes:

Rose Petal Blusher DIY

  Gorgeous DIY Blusher

I felt inspired yet again, this time by Japanese Beauty blushers. Which are not yet available state side. They are beautiful, and look as though the petals were created from powder. I wanted to capture that essence of over the top opulence, so I concocted a lovely do-it-yourself!

First gather your materials
You will need:
-craft rose petals
-Ziploc bag
-setting spray
-paper towels
-small jar/container ( I found mine at Daiso)
-powdered blush (or use a cracked one you own)
-shimmer pigment of choice (can omit for matte blush)

Step 1: On your paper towel-covered surface, open your Ziploc bag. Next pour 1- 2 tablespoons worth of powdered blush, for mine I used a Smashbox Halo blush which was about 2 full twists. Next add some metallic pigment of choice for some sparkle, or omit. Its your life not mine.

Step 2: Now coat your rose petals with a generous spray from setting liquid of choice. You want the fabric to be moistened not soaking wet.

Step 3: Add your rose petals to Ziploc bag.

Step 4: Grasp the bag from the closure, so the powder doesn't fly, now shake the bag! Ensuring the petals are generously dusted. They look ready when they resemble spicy flavored chips like Lay's Flamin' hot.

Step 5: Remove from bag and let dry.

Step 6: Add the beautiful petals into your container of choice, now show off!

Hope you enjoy this fun cute take on blush! Its easy and will look gorgeous on any vanity counter.

Rose Highlighter DIY

Have you been obsessing over gorgeous rose highlighter on Instagram?

I have too! After seeing it, I was disappointed in the color payoff but was still swooning over the packaging. Here is my rendition of the drool worthy gem, with minimal expense!

First you will need to gather your supplies. You will need:

-A fake rose, find one made of fabric. I found mine at a $1 store.
-1 container, found mine at Daiso for $1
-Paper towels or 1 medium sized towel
-Setting spray
-Makeup spatula
-Highlighters of choice
-Glitter pigment

First trim your rose, (if it comes from a stem) use sturdy scissors. Next begin cleansing your rose with warm soap water. To ensure there is no dirt or grime, because you do not want dirt particles on your face, like ever. After you have completed washing it, at this point you can let the rose air dry or start dazzling it. (I elected to let my rose air dry completely overnight)

Now that you have gathered the rose and its adorable container, do you have a fave highlighter that has cracked? Or have hit the pans of highlighters you can't let go of? Time to repurpose them! For my rose I used this Physician's Formula pan I swatched once, along with a Milani eyeshadow. Again, you DO NOT have to use what I did, use what you already have!

Select your pigments or highlighter scraps you have at this stage.

LET'S BEGIN!

Step 1: Lay out your towel or paper towels on a nice even counter top. Arrange the following items nearby; highlighters, spatula, setting spray, and rose.

Step 2: Crush your powder to form an even fine powder with the spatula.

Step 3: Mix in setting spray with the powder mixture

I used Smashbox Primer Water.

Step 4: Get the mix into a wet liquid highlighter texture, not a paste. If it is too thick add more setting spray or it will be tough to work with.

Step 5: Begin coating the petals from the bottom petals up using fingers.

Step 6: Once you have covered the entire rose, its time for the glitter pigment! Use as much or as little as you would like. It adds more sparkle to the finished product. ( I used a iridescent clear)

Sparkles

Step 7: Place this rose in her container with the lid off to let it air dry over night.

Now you'll be the envy of all your makeup addict friends! Enjoy and have fun creating this project. It will look beautiful sitting on your dresser, or anywhere that needs a little magic!

Why use oils in skincare?

It seems finding the right oil is a daunting task. However, it is worth the mission, plus your skin will thank you! It frightens me to know there are companies who use derivatives of antifreeze in skincare/ beauty products. HENCE the importance of ALWAYS reading the ingredient lists. I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle so it made no sense to continue slathering my face with just anything. I started to google, which is brilliant for finding holistic natural skincare. It also led me to learn more about man made synthetic materials that are deemed suitable for consumers. After leaving myself a tad bit horrified, I had to find better options for my skin.

My personal favourite at the moment is GLOW GIRL! Beauty Serum. I love it because it's all natural and good for your skin oils. The oil serum absorbs nicely into skin. Which I think, first timers would be pleased with, as you don't feel greasy or heavy. There is no scent I detect in the product. I use this as a night routine product, 1 to 2 drops all over face and neck after toning. When my face is irritated from weather conditions or I'm having a reaction to other products, this oil saves my face!

Ingredients included:
Unrefined coconut oil, unrefined extra virgin olive oil, rosehip oil, and jojoba oil.

Key to why oils on oily skin work so well. They correct your skin and balance it out! I recommend starting slow as a night treatment only using it sparingly until your face becomes accustomed to the change. What may work for me may not work for you. If you're allergic to coconut oil this may not suit you. If you're not, try it out! It's amazing value for the price/ amount. It not only helps your skin but can hydrate stressed out hair as well.
